Oliver Schröder
Make-up-Artist & Hairstylist
Oliver grew up in the Bavarian idyll of Lake Starnberg. Even as a child, he was fascinated by chemical relationships. He drew structural formulae like other children drew trees or houses. These scientific relationships never left him. Hair styling also fascinated him from an early age, so much so that he even invented his own hair gel - with the help of his Kindermixer. As a young adult, he continued to follow his passion: while still at secondary school, he did an internship at Vidal Sassoon in Munich at the age of 14 - and he loved it from the very first moment. It quickly became clear to both sides that he would also do his apprenticeship there. He finally started at 17, making Oliver Schröder the youngest Vidal Sassoon trainee in 40 years. It might read like a side note, but it is significant: Oliver Schröder has been playing the violin since he was a child. Playing the violin has a meditative and practical effect for him, as it contributes significantly to dexterity, which is an important aspect in the life of a make-up and hair artist.
Ideally, his apprenticeship was already very education-focussed, meaning that training played a major role. He crowned his apprenticeship with the title of "Apprentice of the Year". It was planned from the outset that he would later go on to become a master craftsman, as this was always his heart's desire. In his early 20s, the young man, affectionately known to the world as "Oli", travelled to a renowned academy in Düsseldorf. There he completed his training as a make-up artist. In between, he regularly flew to London to take a look behind the scenes of globally recognised fashion shows. From then on, he worked as a lecturer at the Düsseldorf academy and was responsible for curricula and practical units.
Oliver Schröder has been self-employed since 2017. This allows him to combine his three great passions. He is a respected Platinum Key Educator and Brand Ambassador at Kevin Murphy. He regularly passes on his knowledge of styling, colour and hair care in seminars around the world. He continues to look after his regular customers one day a month in a hairdressing salon in Düsseldorf. Oliver Schröder has also long since arrived on TV. He works as a make-up artist and hairstylist for RTL ("DSDS", "IBES", "Punkt 12" and "Exklusiv"), ProSieben ("GNTM" and "The Masked Singer"), ARD, ZDF, Vox and many other TV channels, and with many production companies (Endemol, Warner Bros, Universal), with designers (Abercrombie&Fitch, Guido Maria Kretschmar, Adidas) and is booked for events (L'Oreal, Porsche Design, Maybelline New York) and trade fairs such as Milan or Berlin Fashion Week, as well as by celebrities. Singer Àlvaro Soler, presenters Katja Burkard and Amira Pocher, influencers such as Carmushka and Ana Johnson comedienne Carolin Kebekus, actresses Christine Neubauer and Simone Thomalla, "Baywatch" legend David Hasselhoff, star chef Cornelia Poletto, entertainer Florian Silbereisen, football legends Gerald Asamoah and Marco Reus, streamer Gronkh and singers Rea Garvey and Stefanie Heinzmann have already entrusted themselves to his hands and ideas.
